President Donald Trump has agreed to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in May at a yet-to-be-determined location.
The talks are reportedly going to revolve around the North’s denuclearization, though a formal discussion agenda has not yet been released and is likely in the early planning stages.
Such talks were unthinkable even a few weeks ago, but since the Olympics when North and South Korea sent a joint team to competitions in Pyeongchang, in the South, tensions have eased.
The historic meeting was reportedly brokered by South Korean President Moon Jae-in, who said Friday that it will be a “historical milestone” that will put the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula “really on track.” [source]
