Syrian army says Israel attacked targets in capital of Damascus

Syria’s state-owned media is reporting that Israel attacked targets in the greater Damascus region using warplanes and surface-to-surface missiles.

State media noted further that the Syrian military responded with air defense missiles, reportedly striking one Israeli aircraft while intercepting several Israeli-fired missiles.

The Syrian Army general command said forces responded to Israeli attacks on military positions in the Al-Qutayfah area, north of Damascus. Israeli missiles targeted military sites in Qutifah area near the capital of Damascus, SANA news agency reports.
