Israeli border policeman, two security guards killed in terrorist attack

An Israeli border police officer and a pair of security guards were killed in the town of Har Adar, outside Jerusalem, as another Israeli civilian was wounded.

It was the first terrorist incident in the town. The attack, a Palestinian assailant who approached the town’s gate posing as a laborer, was killed in an exchange of gunfire with remaining Israeli security personnel.

Israeli media identified the attacker as 37-year-old Nimer Mahmoud Ahmad Jamal, a father of four from the Palestinian village of Beit Surik. He is said to have had a valid work permit allowing him to enter Jewish settlements in the West Bank.
