Good morning! Here’s some reporting from over the weekend. This is your Early Warning for Monday, 21 August.
– From media reports, you’d have thought that Saturday’s Free Speech Rally in Boston was a Klan meeting, as they heralded the presence of some 40,000 counter-demonstrators. But there were a grand total of zero Nazis in Boston, despite media reporting — which was 100% deliberate in their successful attempts to label free speech as hate speech. Joe Biggs (Rogue Right), a friend of mine, spoke at the Free Speech Rally, and reported on the left wing violence in opposition to free speech (Twitter link). After the rally ended, the left wing protestors turned to protesting law enforcement and used rocks and their own urine to attack police officers.
– Over the weekend, the Russian navy released a video showing the launch of a Kalibr missile from a submarine. The Kalibr missile is reportedly capable of hitting targets up to 2,600km (~1,400 miles) away. “Overall, the Northern, the Baltic, the Black Sea, and the Caspian Fleets [of the Russian navy] can hold at risk wide swaths of territory in Europe and the Middle East, perhaps reaching as far as parts of the Persian Gulf region,” said one expert.
