Good morning. Here’s your Early Warning for Tuesday, 14 November.
The President wraps up his Asia trip this week, after reaffirming defense ties with India and solidifying relationships with other Asian leaders. A forty-five minute meeting with Indian Prime Minister Modi resulted in agreement that “two of the world’s greatest democracies should also have the world’s greatest militaries”. President Trump has prioritized cooperation with India in military and geopolitical matters to help counter Chinese power and influence in the region.
The FBI released “hate crime” statistics for 2016, which includes data for 6,100 attacks in America. Over half of racially-motivated hate crimes were against blacks; 20 percent occurred against whites. The Justice Department is expected to implement a new strategy to combat these types of crimes, which represent the “number one investigative priority” for the FBI’s civil rights division. I’ll be digging in and addressing the rest of these statistics on today’s Forward Observer Radio show.
