In another sign that Americans are increasingly divided over political issues, an anti-Trump activist in Pennsylvania “executed” his Republican-supporting neighbor with two rounds to the head in the early morning hours of Aug. 8 after a long-running dispute between the two.
Clayton Carter allegedly shot George Jennings, both 51, hours after police were called to break up a dispute between them.
Neighbors told police the pair had a long-running dispute, and that they were always concerned about Carter’s unpredictable nature. His yard was filled with hand-painted signs disparaging President Donald Trump and his driveway was usually filled with cars. Jennings, meanwhile, was a member of the Chester County Republican Committee.
Reports said that Carter accused Jennings of shining a light in his eyes as he returned home early on Aug. 8; in response, Carter went inside his home, retrieved a .380 caliber handgun and then parked his car on Jennings’ lawn with his bright beams shining into Jennings’ home. That set off a heated argument, resulting in Carter allegedly shooting Jennings twice in the head.

Bottom line: This is the second shooting incident in which an anti-Trump, anti-Republican perpetrator allegedly committed the crime. The first incident involved Leftist activist and Trump opponent James T. Hodginson, who shot and wounded five at a baseball field in Virginia in June, critically injuring House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana. We expect more of this kind of violence as opposition to Trump deepens and Americans on both sides of the political aisle move further apart.
